Hi, I’m Inma Goodhew, mum of two wonderful children and founder of The Old School Club .
I teach (mostly women!) creative skills to make the things you want to have or give as gifts, so friends and family can go – wow, did you make this? . I help people get enjoyment, satisfaction and pleasure from making and being creative – did you know that making is good for the soul and a stress relief? Now you do. And through this blog, I provide inspiration and advice so you can turn an idea into reality and make money doing what you love.
My proudest professional achievement is transforming my career from a senior role in IT to a creative entrepreneur, doing something that I am passionate about – teaching and making. I am very grateful I can do what I love and to create what I am now from nothing.
THE OLD SCHOOL CLUB
I started The Old School Club back in 2011 after having my first son. I wanted to take creative courses but there were none in London where I could take my son with me. So I started my own. I bought 6 sewing machines and took over my husband’s office and I invited all my mummy friends to learn how to sew. I hired a babysitter to look after our babies and we made lots of bags and cushions.
In 2013 I found a light and airy warehouse and I consolidated my business. It has been a hard journey but I wouldn’t change it for anything.
