Hi, I’m Inma Goodhew, mum of two wonderful children and founder of The Old School Club, a creative hub in South London. 2016-06-28 15.07.56-web

I teach (mostly women!) creative skills to make the things you want to have or give as gifts, so friends and family can go – wow, did you make this? . I help people get enjoyment, satisfaction, and pleasure from making and being creative – did you know that making is good for the soul and a stress relief? Now you do. And through this blog, I provide inspiration and advice so you can turn an idea into reality and make money doing what you love.

My proudest professional achievement is transforming my career from a senior role in IT to a creative entrepreneur, doing something that I am passionate about – teaching and making. I am very grateful I can do what I love and to create what I am now from nothing.

I started The Old School Club back in 2011 after having my first son. I wanted to take creative courses but there were none in London where I could take my son with me. So I started my own. I bought 6 sewing machines and took over my husband’s office and I invited all my mummy friends to learn how to sew. I hired a babysitter to look after our babies and we made lots of bags and cushions.

In 2013 I found a light and airy warehouse and I consolidated my business. It has been a hard journey but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

You can see all our classes and events at The Old School Club here.

My mission through this blog is to help you set up and run your creative businesses through my experience running my own business combined with 15 years in IT and business consultancy.

This blog is aimed at people like you, women who would like to balance looking after their children with running a creative business, professionals who don’t feel motivated with their current jobs and would like to create a side business and established creative business that would like to move their business to the next level by leveraging the technology to reach a wider community.
