Painting furniture is much more than adding one or two coats of paint. The process involves designing, choosing paint & colour combinations, looking at the style of the piece so good pieces don't get ruined (not everything should or can be painted!) preparing your piece and also applying the right techniques.

In this course I will give you, step by step, what you need to upcycle your own pieces of furniture.

Each course contains easy to follow videos and tutorials. You will also have access to a private group for the duration of the course where you will be able to ask questions about your pieces, get feedback and work on your projects with other like-minded people.

You can see below one of the FB live demos (every Friday at 12.00)

Hi, I'm Inma Goodhew.

I have been teaching how to paint & upcycle furniture at The Old School Club for a few years now. I understand that people are busy and have no time to attend onsite classes. I have also realised that you need to support or would like to ask more questions just when you go back home and start doing another piece.

This is why I have created this online course. To teach you how to style, prepare, paint and finish your pieces to a professional standard and also to give you the support you may need whilst practicing or working on other pieces.

  • Learn the basics of furniture painting with chalk paint, about colour combinations, basic painting techniques and how to apply wax to obtain best results.

For this course we will use 3 different pieces of furniture which require different techniques, each piece will cover the following:

  • Lesson  2: Colour combinations, when to use them.
  • Lesson  3: Furniture painting best practices.

The courses include a combination of Tutorials and Videos. You can download the tutorials for future use and you can watch the videos at your own time within the duration of the course.

You will have access to a Private Facebook group for the duration of the course (usually between 1 to 2 weeks), open to all students taking the Furniture Painting courses.  In this group you will be able to:

  • Get Support  and ask questions related to the course whilst you go through the course materials.
  • Bounce your ideas with me and other upcyclers.

The only think I ask you is that you block some time during the scheduled weeks to follow the materials and practice so you can be ask all your questions in the Facebook Group.

Is this course for me?

You can start all this by yourself, researching on Pinterest or watching youtube videos, but this is the only course online where you will be able to ask questions about your specific products and challenges.

You can have the confidence that I have been teaching upcycling courses for many years and selling upcycled furniture on the side.

If I don’t like the course, can I get my money back?

Unfortunately we can't offer refunds at this point in time. As soon as the course starts you will be able to access all the content.

When will the courses will be available?

To make sure that the courses are super valuable and that you learn what it is important for you, I have scheduled different start dates for each course. This is so I can dedicate the time to respond to your questions in the Facebook Group and make sure you make progress through the materials.

Please check the starting time frames for each course. You will get a confirmation email as soon as you purchase the course and the specific dates when the course starts.

How much time will I need to spend on the course?

It is really up to you, but I recommend you block between 2 to 4 hours to go through the tutorials and watch the videos and that you also practice on sample pieces whilst going through the course. This will give you the opportunity to find your challenges and ask the questions in the Private Facebook Group.

What is the format of the course?

The courses contain easy to follow tutorial, required resources and practical tips on each section.

The creative skills videos included in this course are filmed at our workshop in Battersea, London. We will cover similar techniques to those I teach every day at The Old School Club, although I believe these courses are better as they give you the opportunity to practice at home on your own pieces whilst being able to ask the questions.

The private Facebook Group is available during the duration of the course, after this time, you will be invited to become a member of our Membership programme at a discounted rate.
